The following is a synopsis of three year Agreement between CWA and SBC Messaging-CCO (PBIS-CCO) that was ratified overwhelmingly on May 1, 2003.

 

Article 1 – Recognition

            No change.

 

Article 2 – Company-Union Relations

            No change

 

Article 3 – Union Security and Payroll Deduction of Union Dues

            No change

 

Article 4 – No Strike/No Lockout

            No change

 

Article 5 – Bulletin Boards

            No change

 

Article 6 – Nondiscrimination, Affirmative Action, Federal and State Laws

Article 7 – Classification of Employees

            No change

 

Article 8 – Seniority

            Section 8.01 – To read:  Seniority shall mean net credited service with the Company as determined by the Employees’ Benefit Committee Benefit Plan Committee.

 

Article 9 – Working Conditions

            No change

 

Article 10 – Time Off

            Section 10.03 – To Read:  Employees will be paid for the holiday provided that they work all of their scheduled hours immediately before and after the holiday or are excused by management.  Employees who call in sick are not excused by management for the purposes of the holiday payment specified in this Section subject to the following:

  1. The day before a holiday:
    1. An employee, who reports out, for any reason including sickness, and who subsequently come to work and works a minimum of half of his/her scheduled hours may be considered, excused by management for the purpose of the holiday payment specified in this Section.
  2. The day after a holiday:

1. An employee, who reports to work at the start of his/her scheduled hours and works a minimum of half of his/her scheduled hours and who then reports out, for any reason including sickness, may be considered, excused by management for the purpose of the holiday payment specified in this Section.

 

            Section 10.06 – To read:  Two Five vacation days per vacation year may be taken in four two (4) (2) hour increments.
